Warranty – All Bow Purchases Only

Congratulations on your purchase of a Bending Branch Bow! I appreciate your trust in my products and hope you have a great experience. If you have any questions during your bow ownership, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I want you to be successful with your Bending Branch Bow. Of course, I appreciate referrals!

Here at Bending Branch Bows, I rely on honesty and transparency to provide a quality product and stress-free ownership experience. Any exemptions from warranty (i.e. blemish in finish, cosmetic issue) will be fully disclosed at the time of purchase. Products with minor cosmetic issues are often sold at a discounted price, so you will be made completely aware of any said issue. These pre-disclosed issues are not covered under our warranty.

Bending Branch Bows offers a warranty on all new bows for the first three years. Claimant must be the original purchaser. Warranty is not transferable. All shipping costs to and from our shop are the responsibility of the owner. A phone interview is required for all warranty work to determine the problem.

  • During the first year of ownership, I will repair or replace the bow, whichever we agree is satisfactory to meet your expectations of our product.
  • During the second year of ownership, I will repair or replace bow, whichever we agree is satisfactory to meet your expectations of our product. Owner must pay 50% of original price if the bow is replaced and 50% of repair costs.
  • During the third year of ownership, I will repair or replace bow, whichever we agree is satisfactory to meet your expectations of our product. Owner must pay 75% of original price if the bow is replaced and 75% of repair costs.

Date of ownership begins on the date you receive the bow. If damage occurs during shipping, this is an insurance issue and I need to know immediately.

If a bow shows signs of misuse, alteration or mishandling, this warranty is void. Warranty will be VOID if the following occurs:

  • Bow has been braced (strung) improperly, or if an incorrect string is used. I recommend B55 or D97 string. Our bow tips are reinforced with a phenolic material to prevent wear.
  • Use of a bowstring consisting of less than ten strands of string material.
  • Bow is strung without a bow stringer.
  • Any attempt is made to alter the bow, including the finish.
  • Any delaminations as a result of exposure to heat. Do NOT leave inside a vehicle!
  • Any holes drilled into, or items attached to the bow that penetrate any portion of the bow.
  • Model number or product identifying information is removed or defaced.
  • Flagrant misuse and abuse is plainly evident.

Warranty does NOT cover wear or replacement of bowstring. This warranty does not apply to the finish on any bow. Wear and tear in the finish of the bow is expected. However, if you feel there is an issue beyond normal use, (i.e. crack or break) please let us know and we may consider it a warranty issue.

For Repairs/Damage Not Covered Under Warranty

Contact Eric at Bending Branch Bows for work acceptance before returning the bow. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the owner.

General Care For Your Bending Branch Long Bow

I can’t emphasize enough, always use a stringer and proper stringing/unstringing technique. Stringing your bow can be a cumbersome process.  Take your time to do this correctly. Keep an eye on the string during the process, making sure it is in the center of each string groove. Regularly inspect your string.  If you see worn areas or frays you will want to replace it soon. To view proper stringing of a longbow in action, check out this video or give me a call and I will walk you through it your first time.

Your bow should be hung or laid flat on the floor to alleviate side to side pressure and to avoid twisting of the limbs. If you hang your bow, be sure to hang it with the weight on the riser or limbs, not on the string. Leaving your bow strung at all times will not decrease the poundage of your bow.

We do not recommend leaving your bow strung for long periods of non-use. It is a good idea to take your bow down when it has been exposed to rain, moisture or dampness to prevent reshaping. If you live in a region of high humidity you will need to take your bow down more often. If you are using a limb tip protector you will want to be sure to air out the tips occasionally to prevent mold and humidity damage on the tips.

Leaving a bow sitting on hot surfaces for even short periods of time can cause twisting or delaminating. A common mistake is leaving a bow strung in a hot car or setting it against hot metal objects such as cars, ATVs, in a sunny window, near a wood stove, etc.

Should you get a nick or scratch which goes through the finish of your  bow you can simply seal it with clear fingernail polish or a lacquer-based finish to keep the moisture out. I’m always happy to look over your bow should you have concerns.

Dry firing your bow may cause damage so be sure to keep an eye on your nocks to be sure they are not broken prior to shooting.  If a dry fire does occur, be sure to look over your entire bow before shooting it again.  If you have concerns, please don’t hesitate to give me a call and we can discuss your concerns.

30 Day Trial Period

It is important that your new bow works for you. Purchasing a new bow is an investment and being able to shoot your new bow to determine if it is what you are looking for, is part of the bow ownership process. Whenever possible, it is best to meet in person so that you can test the bow. If that is not possible, having the bow shipped, trialed, and then returned is an option. Your full payment amount will be refunded minus any shipping expenses within 30 days of confirmed delivery by the shipping company. There will be a $150 refinishing fee if there is any damage to the finish as deemed by the bowyer. Return shipping must be insured for the full payment amount.
