Manufacturer’s Tips for Application

Finish Options: Available in gloss, satin, and flat.
Base Coat Note: We do not recommend using the flat finish as a base coat. For the best results, use gloss as your base and apply flat only as a final topcoat.
California Residents: Per state regulations, this material must be brushed on only; it may not be sprayed within California.

Mixing Instructions

Combine Parts A and B: Mix equal parts of Part A and Part B by volume in a clean, dry container (e.g., 2 ounces of A with 2 ounces of B).
Induction Period: The mixture must then stand for a minimum of 30 minutes to allow the chemical curing action to begin. This activation period is crucial and must be completed before adding any thinner.
Thinning: After the induction time, thin the mixture by approximately 25% to 30% by volume using the specialized Thunderbird Epoxy Thinner.
- Example: For 4 ounces of mixed A and B (2 oz A + 2 oz B), you would add 1 ounce of thinner (25% of the combined volume).
Final Mix: Stir the thinned mixture thoroughly to ensure everything is fully combined and ready for application.

Important Notes

Surface Prep: Before applying the finish, the bow’s surface should be sanded and wiped clean with denatured alcohol or acetone. Do NOT use lacquer thinner, mineral spirits, or paint thinner for cleaning the raw wood.

Safety: Always wear a carbon filter mask that removes vapors when applying finishes, as they can be harmful if inhaled.

Application: The product can be brushed on or sprayed. If spraying, a touch-up gun is often used for good results.
